Government has initiated several initiatives for the development of electronics sector in the country. The Government has recently approved National Policy on Electronics (NPE). One of the important objectives of the NPE is to achieve a turnover of about USD 400 Billion by 2020 involving investment of about USD 100 Billion and employment to around 28 million by 2020.
Moreover, the policy also proposes setting up of over 200 Electronic Manufacturing Clusters. Another important objective of the policy is to significantly upscale high-end human resource creation to 2500 PhDs annually by 2020 in the sector.
The scheme is proposed to target students studying at IX/X standard onwards , ITI, Polytechnic , under Graduates (Non-Engineering) and also unemployed youths who are school dropouts from 8th Pass onwards, ITI Certificate or Diploma Holders, Graduates , registrants in Employment Exchanges. Unemployed youth in the non formal sector can also benefit from this scheme. The courses under the scheme are for up-skilling and/or accruing news kills.


The objective of the scheme is to enhance the human resource availability in the Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) sector. The scheme, inter alia aims to provide financial assistance for facilitating skill development for 15,000 persons across the State in ESDM Sector for improving the employability of the students/unemployed youth.


1. 100% fee assistance for SC/ST/Economically Weaker Sections
2. 75% fee assistance for general category students (25% scholarship for meritorious students)
3. 100% Placement
4. Certificate awarded by ESSCI/ TSSC.
